Nanny's Refrigerator Rolls Recipe

Stir to dissolve:
1 ¾ warm water
2 Tbsp. dry yeast
½ cup sugar
1 tsp salt

Add:
1 egg
¼ cup butter
3 cups flour

Beat with beater.

Directions:
Directions:
Gradually add 3 more cups of flour, stirring by hand. Brush top of dough with melted butter. Cover with damp towel and refrigerate until double. Punch down dough. Refrigerate until needed. If kept in the refrigerator for 2 or 3 days, punch down every day. Roll to ⅜ thick and cut shape OR make cloverleaves with 3 balls in muffin cups. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double. Brush with melted butter. Bake in 400º oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

I love this recipe. I got this from Gary's mother. She was very proud of this one. It's great for a family Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, because the dough can be put together a few days in advance and baked just before dinner. It makes a lot. You can bake fresh rolls for a couple of days in a row.
By the way, I always make the cloverleaves. They are so easy.
