1 lb. Peas
1-1/2 c. water
1 hambone
1 l. onion; chopped
1/2 c. diced celery
1/2 c. carrots; sliced
1 bay leaf
1 t. sugar
1/4 t. thyme
salt and pepper to taste
milk if needed

Directions:
Directions:
1. Rinse peas, cover with water and soak 5-6 hours or overnight.
2. Add ham bone, onion, celery, carrots and bay leaf.
3. Simmer 1-1/2 hours until tender and soft. Run thru sieve
4. Add thyme, thin with milk if desired.
5. Season with salt and pepper.
6. Garnish with wiener slices.
